Nurture your talents and shun druga abuse youth urged- Wajir Mcas


Sport for development aspires to achieve social impact by using sport, play and physical activity. Alongside its importance in the field of education, sport can also serve as a tool in areas of health promotion, HIV prevention, gender equality, violence prevention, conflict resolution, good governance, inclusion, and environment all of which are prime issues concerning young people today.

A section of MCAs from wajir County have urged youths to shun away the use of drugs and instead engage in sporting and cultural activities for recreation.

Speaking at jogbaru football ground over the weekend while official launch of Heritage Football club New Jersey after the they were invited by the club.

The Mcas from different Wards urged the youth to keep themselves busy with sports and cultural activities during their free time saying drugs and alcohol can derail their life, academic and social development.

The leaders also urge the youths to be United so that to build a community of cohesiveness saying the team groups must nurture a peaceful environment.

They promised to support Heritage team club despite myriad problems in the sport industry in Wajir County.

The leaders were mesmerized how the youthful team showed courage to call the leaders in an open engagement.

They also encouraged the youth to believe in themselves and explore their talents fully.

Caution the youths engage drugs abuse and substances and immoral vices and advice they should be moral upright in ensuring they learn more on the religion.

Youth were urged to take their football skills seriously and avoid anything that may derail their dreams.

Leaders said that drugs, alcohol, peer pressure and addiction to technology and social media could derail the dreams of present day youth.

 Property of an unknown value has been destroyed after strong winds blew off houses, classrooms' roofs in Gurar Wajir North in Wajir County Also learning in one school within Gurar Will be temporarily suspended after strong winds destroyed the classroom roofs.
