An Open Letter to the Leaders of Wajir County - leadership- full your pledges you promised

 Dear Leaders,

CHAPTER ONE–– SOVEREIGNTY OF THE PEOPLE AND SUPREMACY OF THIS CONSTITUTION 1. (1) All sovereign power belongs to the people of Kenya and shall be exercised only in accordance with this Constitution. (2)The people may exercise their sovereign power either directly or through their democratically elected representatives

August 9TH 2022 residents of Wajir County in hundreds flock to their respective polling stations to vote their preferred leaders irrespective of any elements – Wajir people made their victory to elect you – it’s now the time to ink your actions into practical .

Accountability in leadership is anchored in a predisposition toward action, rather than the tendency to wait and react. The Journey of Accountability must start from within. Before a leader can hold others accountable, they must model personal accountability. For every leader, accountability starts by looking in the mirror.

As a society, the human collective has been treated with such huge disrespect by you, our leaders, for way too long.No matter what which region (Wards) we live in, you continue to lie to us every day.Be it through saying you will do something while trying to get us to vote for you – and then not delivering or changing your mind. Be it through hiding some erroneous error you or your (political brokers) or your political appointees has made.

Be it through hiding some scandal you have willingly participated in – and then lying about it. Is it stating one reason for something (say, going to eradicate poverty, dealing unemployment or other hopes of life when the real reason is something completely different?

Or, be it through allowing corruption to still exist at all levels of your governments, while still doing nothing effective to stamp it out, but, instead, paying billions to so-called ‘government’ investigations, programs and law enforcement strategies that never seem to ‘get’ the really’ big’ guys.

The lists of lies you have told us are endless… But what - or who – are you covering up – and working – for?

So today, as you begins anew session of working for the people of Wajir, we ask you to start anew way of disapproving the wrong narrative of leadership. For now the biggest concern to mitigate is the droughts ravaging in the County- hundreds in dare need, flocks of livestock dying in  masses, children in verge of acute malnutrition .

It’s very unfortunate little is being fastracked by you (our leaders) to avert the situation- already what we witnessed in between the Executive and the Assembly – the stalemate on the budget approval is not a good start we need both parties to install a soft ground so that the dreams of thousands voters who stood in the scorching sun be paid back- service delivery, water –tracking, food distribution. We ask you stop lying about war words. Stop lying about policy decisions. Stop lying about Ward based projects. Stop lying about who really controls who? In fact please stop lying about anything to do with values or how you may take over the budgets considerations– its all bout harmony and the will of the people stop the ransom. You’ve all seen – and some of you’ve felt – the roar of the crowd the past election this year in particular, as people in dozens of your constituencies have decided enough is enough, and took  to the poll in their hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands” “We have had enough of this untrue way of living.” This is their truth. But it is also yours.

They voted for you not because of line-ups in the gubernatorial position Wajir people walk out in the large numbers to ignite the hopelessness into the restoring hope- The governor must now not demand to ensure all his campaign pledges be pipelined- already we feel the lights – both County government arms be in together – the recent new Executive Committee in place be up to the task  Yes, ‘people’s patience and anger’ with you, your decisions and your way of ‘governing’ is what’s ‘up’- peoples urge are high mbwana governor deliver.

Mr. Mp, Women Rep. and County Rep. wake from the slumber-land start your commitment to fulfill the promises – on kind note Wajir women representative promised to our dear mothers a universal healthcare across the six- sub counties –a leeway that if fastracked will be a milestone break record- also will help many innocent mothers across the county.

Yes, some of you did storm into power legitimately – or managed to cobble together a minority government to do so – but behavior and lack of true and honest action in power made some being left during elections you were elected why? Because you’re simply trusted and believed to serve.

During 2017- 2022 we’ve seen what happened in Wajir the political insanity, the corruption, the backwardness, the injustices and all hotbeds of crisis that made Wajir residents to wallow in pain- a setback they thoughts it will change of which they elected you as their leaders. Rather, it’s been though more brave of whistleblowers having to fear for their lives as they speak out against those who are the perpetrators of wrong doings. Vote against their kins, tribe.

So, dear leaders please give us some true and honest answers this year; answers to questions such as: will this leaders be different? Possible to execute pledges? – We need all promises made during the campaign trail be made into actions but not a enriching platforms for wealth and resource.

Wajir County should not be go back or turned into a political theatre – leaders must not squabble over issues that are not important to us the electorates. It will be a quite shame some leaders to halt the services delivery agenda as results of interest – would it be fair a member to stage a boycott or not to ease budget processing or formation of a committee because their names is not in the list- I think Wajir interest is beyond anything else- I appeal to all elected leaders to carry themselves in decorum in addressing their plights.

Each individual bestowed with responsibility should do their best level to ensure that the rays of hope are achieved fully.

Bless Wajir county.
