Keep politics out of Wajir referral hospital, sabotage to services and we must enhance oversight

On my recent visit ( admitting patient) to Wajir referral hospital has left me in shocks and queries. WHY such treatment? whose role to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in management and coordination? where does the bus stop? upon arrival to the facility I face cruelty from a section of staffs on the duty too much nagging, frustration once you inquire help, no one gives the attention you want - if you are not patient enough surely one may cause problem. I tried to lower my tempo waiting for you attendance well it went in vain.

From the way I was accorded purely one can understand the staffs don't have a close rapport with patients or anyone who seeks for assistance. if there is an arrival of emergency - there is too much bureaucracy and stalemate within.

I think any emergency case the personnel should give a quick response to save life not rather than compromised faults - There is closet of impunity in giving services, it's either incompetency or not willingly. it's very vividly witnessed some staffs bluntly throw tantrums based on political stands whenever they want to attend a patient - either profiling.

Lately, the hospital has been of hotbeds of accusations, complaints, negligence and irony of fostering a better health institution- despite the hospital has been pumped with millions to change the stereotypes people do have-  The impeachment saga that unfolded was as results of negligence, embezzlement of funds in the health department.

Wajir governor embark on reforming the hospital to achieve a better health services for all of Wajir residents.

Many patients (Wajir people)are publicly loosing confidence towards the Wajir referral hospital - action be taken against those employees who mess with execution of their roles with politics.

As Kenyan , bonafide resident of Wajir I'm expressing my concern, an oversight must be fastracked, to bring sanity in the hospital-  constitutionally everyone has the right to access health . This pivotal institution is turning to political -quantosyndrome ( staffs not serious, everyone leaving their roles to other, blame game within).we call an independent interventions from the top official especially the governor because he is the commander of the county who remain the ultimate whipper to put the house in order - for now as overhaul is the best solution.

WHY I'm saying let's keeps politics out of delivering services because some politicians play their cards in frustrating everything using their kins and daughters who happens working in their opponent government - The mole factor, some Politicians aim to use healthcare as carrot and stick to advance their plans ,time and again we have seen how provisions of health services played or used in the political rallies.

Health is paramount in need in existence of human life, here in Wajir county health department received biggest chunk of money (allocation, over 1.5 billion)but still lags behind - across the constituencies (6) almost many dispensaries need an urgent concern. The CEC for health must Wake up from slumber-land to correct this shortcomings in the health department- health is not a political but human rights issues.

Thus, it's important to have Healthcare commission to ensure quality and safety. This could have helped in reducing corruption, negligence, mismanagement and lack of equipment and personnel . To my prayers crucially given the health department to be returned to national government to zip off loopholes of corruption, cry foul of suffering patients and ensuring people's health be prioritized .
