NAIROBI – The race for the Wajir County Women Representative seat in the 2027 General Election has officially begun, with Anab Mohamed becoming the latest entrant to declare her candidacy.
In a private dinner held at Atis Hotel in Nairobi, Anab hosted close family members and trusted friends in what she described as a "precursor to her political journey." The intimate gathering provided a space for reflection, engagement, and strategy-sharing on the future of women leadership in Wajir County.
“This evening marks the beginning of a long but necessary journey toward political representation and women's empowerment,” Anab stated during her remarks. “I’m truly grateful to those who honoured my invitation and offered their unwavering support, even on such short notice.”
Anab hails from Wajir West, a key swing region known for its influence in determining countywide outcomes. She is the daughter of former nominated MCA Mama Fatuma, a respected figure with a considerable voice in the political affairs of Wajir West.
Her candidacy is expected to draw significant attention, particularly due to her family’s deep-rooted ties in regional politics and her outspoken stance on championing women’s rights and leadership.
With the slogan #TheJourneyBegins and #WomenMP2027, Anab Mohamed is setting the stage for what promises to be a dynamic and closely watched campaign.
