TANA RIVER — A growing tide of political unity is taking shape in Tana River County after the Somali Weyn community formally endorsed Maryanroon Mohamed as their sole candidate for the Women Representative seat in the 2027 General Election.
In a declaration marked by solidarity and optimism, Maryanroon expressed deep gratitude for the endorsement, describing it as both a personal honor and a collective commitment to a shared future.
“I am deeply humbled by the trust and confidence you have placed in me. This endorsement is not just about me—it reflects our unity, our belief in progress, and our shared vision for a better Tana River,” she said.
She emphasized that her campaign will prioritize empowerment, inclusivity, and equal opportunity, with a particular focus on women and youth across the county.
“Together, we are building a movement that ensures every voice is heard and every community is represented. I remain committed to addressing our challenges and delivering meaningful development in every corner of Tana River,” she added.
Maryanroon called on residents to maintain unity and momentum as the political journey unfolds, stressing that collective effort will be key to achieving lasting change.

The endorsement event was attended by a host of influential leaders, underscoring the weight of support behind her bid. Among those present were Adeer Said Mohamed Guhad, Ugaas of Habargidir in East Africa; the Chief Guest Hon. Shabin Sala, MCA; Hon. Yusuf Bille (Chewele Ward); Hon. Afbalow (Madogo Ward); Hon. Captain Bulle; Hon. Rukia Abdi; Hon. Abdiaziz Ibrahim; Hon. Ifrah Yarisey and Hon. Yunis.
Maryanroon acknowledged their presence and backing, noting that their endorsement adds significant momentum to her campaign.
