Wajir gubernatorial aspirant Hassan Wehliye Khalid has intensified consultations within the larger Fai community, holding a high-level engagement with professionals to discuss family affairs, community cohesion and the political future of Wajir County ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The meeting brought together professionals drawn from various sectors, providing a platform for candid discussions on issues affecting both the Fai family and the wider Wajir community. Participants underscored the importance of unity, strategic leadership and collective responsibility in shaping the county's future.

Addressing the gathering, Khalid praised the professionals for their continued commitment to community development, describing them as a critical pillar in guiding the family and contributing to informed decision-making.

“Our professionals remain among the brightest minds in society. Their guidance, expertise, and unwavering support are essential as we work towards strengthening family unity and advancing the interests of our people,” said Khalid.

The discussions focused on fostering cohesion within the Fai community, strengthening social ties and creating a common vision that can deliver lasting prosperity for future generations.

Khalid also acknowledged the role the professionals have played in supporting ongoing consultations ahead of the anticipated endorsement process, noting that their counsel continues to shape key decisions within the community.

Political interest within the Fai community has continued to gather momentum, with several individuals having expressed interest in the Wajir gubernatorial contest. Among those whose names have featured prominently in the race are Dr. Hassan, Mohamed Elmi, popularly known as Mohamed Fai and Ugas Sheikh Mohamed.

Sources within the community indicate that the Fai family is expected to convene a decisive meeting in July to deliberate on its political strategy and explore the possibility of rallying behind a single candidate in a bid to consolidate its influence ahead of the 2027 elections.

“Unity remains our greatest strength. The coming consultations will be crucial in determining a common path forward for the family and the wider community,” a participant at the meeting observed.

As political alignments begin to take shape across Wajir County, the outcome of the Fai community's deliberations is expected to play a significant role in influencing the dynamics of the gubernatorial race.
