The Moses Wetang'ula has urged the Mulembe Nation to unite behind President William Ruto in the 2027 General Election, arguing that an overwhelming vote for the Head of State will strengthen the region's influence in Kenya's future succession politics.
Speaking during a Boda Boda empowerment programme at Emusire High School in Emuhaya Constituency, the Speaker called on residents to acquire National Identity Cards, register as voters, and turn out in large numbers to re-elect President Ruto.
"Our political strength will be measured by the numbers we register and the votes we cast. We must speak with one voice at the ballot," Wetang'ula said.
He expressed concern over the region's relatively low voter registration and turnout, warning that political bargaining power is determined by electoral participation.
Wetang'ula maintained that a decisive victory for President Ruto would place the Mulembe community at the centre of national politics and improve its prospects of producing a future president after the end of Ruto's tenure.
The Speaker also cited several development projects undertaken by the Kenya Kwanza administration in Vihiga County, including the construction of Kidundu Stadium, modern markets in Mbale and Luanda, affordable housing projects, road infrastructure improvements, and the appointment of local leaders to senior government positions.
"These achievements demonstrate why President Ruto deserves a second term," he said.
Wetang'ula concluded by urging the Mulembe community to remain united and politically strategic, saying sustained support for the President would translate into greater national influence and long-term leadership opportunities for the region.
