Tarbaj Member of Parliament Hussein Abdi Bare has unveiled two transformative development proposals aimed at accelerating socio-economic growth in the constituency: the elevation of Mansa to a Sub-County and the establishment of the Mansa Mega Dam.
Speaking after engaging President William Samoei Ruto during the president tour in Kutulo the legislator said the initiatives are designed to enhance service delivery, improve water security, and unlock economic opportunities for residents across the region.
“I seized the opportunity to present to President William Samoei Ruto two landmark proposals that will significantly transform our constituency — the elevation of Mansa into a Sub-County and the construction of the Mansa Mega Dam,” said Hussein Abdi Bare.
The MP noted that upgrading Mansa to Sub-County status would bring government services closer to the people, strengthen administrative efficiency, and promote equitable development.
He added that the proposed mega dam would provide a sustainable solution to water shortages while supporting agriculture, livestock production, and other economic activities.
“These initiatives will enhance access to government services, strengthen water availability, and stimulate economic growth across Tarbaj Constituency,” he stated.
According to the MP, President Ruto warmly received the proposals and expressed support for their implementation.
“I thank the President for positively receiving the proposals during the baraza. He assured residents that the relevant government agencies would undertake the necessary processes to facilitate their implementation,” Bare said.
The proposals are expected to mark a significant milestone in Tarbaj’s development agenda, reinforcing efforts to improve public service delivery, secure sustainable water resources, and promote inclusive economic growth.
If implemented, the projects could substantially improve the livelihoods of residents and strengthen the constituency’s long-term development prospects.
