NahayAli, Wajir women rep.candidate bows out, supports Fatuma Jehow

 

     Wajir women representative Fatuma Jehow wins support

The race for the Wajir women representative gubernatorial seat has taken another twist after a Ford-kenya Party candidate dropped out and decided to support her sister fatuma Jehow an ODM candidate.

Her decision comes two weeks after the Degodia women leadership caucus nominated two contestants for the position. Barey Diis and Suli Guhad were the two names shortlisted.

this has brought huge outrage amongst other aspirants who were mainly from the Degodia. 

" I decided to opt out of the race after an extensive consultation with my family members and supporters. I also scrutinised my manifesto and found it necessary to harmonise [it with my sister fatuma since they were similar and this will help her to bring development agenda in Wajir county ” she said

She also urged her supporters to also join her to ensure that Fatuma Jehow is elected come 9th August 2022

For her part, the Wajir women representative aspirant Fatuma praised for her “bold decision to support her in the race” and urged other candidates to emulate such dedication.

She thanked her supporters for their continued support and urged them to remain steadfast and support her bid as a leader to ensure once she is elected  she will embark on restoring their hope by executing her pledges.

With Madam Nahay out of the race, there are more than Seven candidates who are now eyeing the seat on a different tickets.

The current incumbent Fatuma Gedi will have tough race in the coming election.

Wajir stadium set for June completion as security team inspect progress, Commissioner Dismisses Insecurity Claim
