The political temperature in Wajir County is steadily rising as Hon. Wardere officially declared his bid for the 2027 Senatorial seat, marking a significant development in the county’s fast-shaping political landscape.

In a statement to residents, Wardere described his decision as a “humble yet determined step” inspired by extensive consultations with elders, religious leaders, youth, women, and professionals from across the six sub-counties of Wajir. He emphasized that his candidacy is rooted in the voices and aspirations of the people.

“This decision has not been made in haste. I have listened to the voices of Wajirians from every corner of our great county because true leadership begins with the people,” he said.

Wardere underscored his commitment to championing accountability, inclusivity, and equitable representation, pledging to restore dignity and integrity in leadership. He noted that Wajir, despite its vast potential and resources, continues to grapple with challenges that require bold and unifying leadership.

“My desire to serve as your Senator is driven by a genuine passion to be part of the solution and to represent our people with dignity — to safeguard our interests at the national level and ensure that every Wajirian feels included in our county’s progress,” he added.

The aspiring senator outlined his vision for Wajir’s transformation through strengthened devolution, community empowerment, and expanded opportunities for youth, women, and pastoral families. He reiterated his belief that a united and transparent leadership can unlock Wajir’s immense potential.

“We are building a leadership model founded on integrity, transparency, and inclusivity. Together, we can strengthen devolution, empower our communities, and open new doors of opportunity,” Wardere remarked.

As the 2027 General Election approaches, the Wajir senatorial race is gaining momentum, with several candidates from various sub-counties declaring their interest. The county’s political dynamics, deeply shaped by negotiated democracy and clan considerations, are expected to influence how alliances and endorsements unfold in the coming months.

Wardere has called upon residents to offer their prayers, support, and counsel as he continues to engage with different groups across the county.

“I believe that with unity, trust, and collective effort, Wajir can rise to new heights. Together, we can build a better, stronger, and more prosperous Wajir for all,” he concluded.

Basir Security Centre Row Sparks Debate as Eldas MP Defends Project

By Ahmed Salat Ali | Political Affairs | AARAN TV KE  Aden Keynan has broken his silence on the controversial Basir Multi-Agency Centre, strongly defending the project as a critical national security intervention and warning leaders against politicizing matters touching on public safety and regional stability. In a strongly worded statement, the Eldas legislator said he had deliberately refrained from commenting on the matter for a long period out of respect for the sensitivity of Kenya’s security architecture.
