Fuje Courts Rer Farah Support as 2027 Wajir Governor Race Gains Momentum

Wajir gubernatorial hopeful Dr. Hassan Fuje has intensified his grassroots engagement campaign ahead of the 2027 General Election, holding a closed-door consultative meeting with members of the Rer Farah sub-clan of the Fai community in Wajir Town.

The meeting, which brought together elders, youth representatives, women leaders and influential opinion shapers, focused on the county's political future, governance priorities and development agenda.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Fuje outlined his vision for Wajir County and presented key pillars of his manifesto, describing himself as a candidate committed to transforming the county through inclusive leadership, improved service delivery and sustainable development.

“I shared my vision and manifesto for Wajir County and highlighted the priorities that will guide a new administration. My focus is on ensuring equitable development, strengthening institutions and improving the lives of our people,” Dr. Fuje said.

The gubernatorial aspirant noted that the engagement provided an opportunity to exchange views on the current political landscape and the direction residents expect county leadership to take in the coming years.

He said the views and recommendations gathered during the discussions would play a critical role in shaping his engagements with communities across the county.

“The insights and perspectives shared by community members are invaluable. They will continue to inform our consultations as we engage different communities throughout Wajir County,” he added.

Dr. Fuje also revealed that discussions touched on matters affecting the wider Fai community ahead of a major summit scheduled for July.

 The forum is expected to chart a common position on issues of collective interest, including the forthcoming gubernatorial contest.

According to the candidate, the summit will provide a roadmap for addressing community concerns while fostering unity and consensus on key political and development issues.

He reiterated his commitment to meeting residents from different parts of the county during his stay in Wajir, saying the consultations are aimed at listening to people's aspirations, challenges and expectations from future leadership.

As political activity gradually gathers pace ahead of the 2027 elections, Dr. Fuje's outreach to influential community groups is being viewed as part of a broader strategy to consolidate support and build alliances across Wajir's diverse social and political landscape.

“Hoyadii walaacsan haloo waramo,” Dr. Fuje remarked, signaling confidence as the race for Wajir's top seat continues to take shape.
