The recce team was received by Chief of Staff Abdullahi Gedi, who chaired a high-level planning meeting attended by senior officials drawn from various county departments.
The annual Devolution Sensitization Week brings together county governments, national government institutions, development partners, and other stakeholders to engage directly with the public.
The forum provides residents with access to a wide range of government services, including legal assistance, healthcare, land services, and public participation forums, while offering citizens an opportunity to share feedback on the implementation of devolved functions.
Speaking during the meeting, Chief of Staff Abdullahi Gedi said Garissa was honoured to host the national event, describing it as an opportunity to showcase the county's achievements under devolution while improving access to essential public services.
"We appreciate the Council of Governors for selecting Garissa to host this important national event. We are fully committed to working with all our partners to ensure successful preparations and deliver a memorable Devolution Sensitization Week," he said.
The event is expected to attract governors, senior government officials, development partners, and delegates from across the country, placing Garissa at the heart of national conversations on devolution, service delivery, and citizen participation.
