RER AABA HUSSEIN COMMUNITY ENDORSES MOHAMED FAI FOR WAJIR GOVERNORSHIP BID

DAMBAS, WAJIR COUNTY — Aspirant for the Wajir gubernatorial seat, Mohamed Elmi, popularly known as Mohamed Fai, received a major political boost on Thursday after securing the endorsement of the Rer Aaba Hussein sub-clan of the larger Fai community during a high-profile consultative meeting in Dambas Town.

The gathering brought together family leaders, elders, religious scholars, women representatives, youth leaders and influential community figures who unanimously declared their support for Mohamed Fai's bid to become Wajir's next governor in the 2027 General Election.

The endorsement followed extensive consultations during which participants deliberated on the county's development priorities, leadership challenges and the future direction of Wajir's governance.

Addressing the meeting, Mohamed Fai expressed gratitude for the confidence bestowed upon him by the community, describing the endorsement as a significant milestone in his political journey.

"I am deeply humbled by the trust and confidence shown by the people of Rer Aaba Hussein. This endorsement is not merely a vote of confidence in my leadership; it is a reflection of our collective aspiration for a united, inclusive, and prosperous Wajir County," he said.

He commended the elders, religious leaders, women and youth for demonstrating unity of purpose and reaffirmed his commitment to championing an agenda centered on equitable development, improved service delivery, and inclusive governance.

Mohamed Fai also lauded the organizers of the meeting for their dedication and coordination, noting that their efforts had facilitated meaningful dialogue and strengthened community cohesion.

"The unity demonstrated here today sends a powerful message that our people are ready to rally behind a shared vision for progress. Together, we can build a county that offers opportunities and dignity to all its residents," he added.

Community leaders who spoke during the meeting said their decision to endorse Mohamed Fai was informed by his leadership credentials, development agenda and commitment to addressing the socio-economic challenges facing Wajir County.

The endorsement is expected to further consolidate Mohamed Fai's political standing as preparations for the 2027 gubernatorial race gather momentum across the county.

The meeting concluded with prayers for peace, unity, and prosperity, with participants expressing optimism about the county's future under transformative leadership.
